The Phoenix Suns didn’t get much help this season from it’s graduating rookie class

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 16 April 2010 at 1:36 pm

The Suns didn’t get much from their rookies this season but it didn’t matter much as they made the playoffs anyway. 22-year old forward Earl Clark played in 51 games (0 starts) for the Suns this year and he averaged 7.5 minutes, 2.7 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He only shot 37.1% from the floor but I don’t think it’s really fair to judge him yet because he got so little playing time this year. 23-year old forward Taylor Griffin outscored his brother Blake Griffin this year and you could have made a lot of money on a bet if you made it before the year starter. That’s not to say that Griffin had a good year because he didn’t. Griffin played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Suns this year and he averaged 4.0 minutes, 1.3 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.

The Phoenix Suns are getting next to nothing from their rookies this season

The Suns are getting almost nada from their rookies so far this season. Power forward Earl Clark is playing horrible so far this season for the Suns. Clark has played in 39 games (0 starts) for the Suns this season and he is averaging 8.1 minutes, 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game on 36% shooting from the floor. Forward Taylor Griffin has played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Suns this season and he is averaging 7.0 minutes, 1.0 point and 0.5 rebounds per game on 33.3% shooting from the floor. Look for the Suns to keep Clark and Taylor nailed to the bench unless they start to show something on the court when they get on it.

The Phoenix Suns don’t have much P.T. for the rookies

The Suns are playing really well this season which has limited the minutes for the rookies. F/C Earl Clark has played in 25 games (0 starts) for the Suns so far this season and he is averaging 8.5 minutes, 2.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. His main problem has been his shooting (39.7% from the floor) and that is a very bad thing when you play with the run and gun Suns. Small forward Taylor Griffin has only played in 2 games (0 starts) this season for the Suns and he is averaging 7.0 minutes, 1.0 point and 0.5 rebounds per game this season. Don’t expect much out of Griffin who is really not that talented.

The Phoenix Suns have not had much playing time for their rookies yet

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 16 November 2009 at 5:07 pm

The Suns are playing at such a high level right now that they don’t have much playing time available for their rookies. 21-year old PF/C Earl Clark has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Suns this season and he is averaging 10.9 minutes, 3.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Clark has shown glimpses of the potential already this season that was why the Suns made him a first round pick. 23-year old forward Taylor Griffin has only played in 1 game (off the bench) for the Suns this year and he scored 2 points and he grabbed 1 rebound.

The rookies of the Phoenix Suns don’t get much P.T.

The Suns rookies aren’t getting much playing time to show what they can do on the basketball court. Center Brook Lopez has been the best of the bunch for the Suns so far this season. He has played in 11 games and he is averaging 11.7 minutes, 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Lopez gives Shaquille O’Neal enough of a break to keep him fresh which will really benefit the Suns this season. Backup guard Goran Dragic has been so-so off the bench this season for the Suns so far. He has played in 13 games and he is averaging 14.4 minutes, 3.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Point guard Sean Singletary has not played very much this season yet. He has played in 7 games for the Suns and he has averaged 10.0 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.1 assists per game.
