The Suns will be without 2nd year center Robin Lopez for the next 6-8 weeks due to surgery has had to repair a broken bone in his left foot. Lopez played in 60 games (7 starts) for the Suns last season and he averaged 10.2 minutes, 3.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game. The Suns will need Channing Frye to really step up with Lopez out when the season starts.

Grant Hill will miss the next two weeks after undergoing a successful appendectomy. Hill has played very well this season for the Suns as he was injury free until this point in the season. Hill has played in 34 games so far this season and he’s averaging 33.9 minutes, 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Hill also has shot the ball very well this season as he’s hit 50.7% of his shots from the floor and 87.5% from the free throw line. The Suns will miss Hill while he’s out because they don’t play many players.

Kurt Thomas will be out until at least mid-February to early March with a hyperextended elbow.  This will hurt the Suns a little bit as Thomas plays good defense and hits the boards hard off the bench.  Thomas has played in 37 games this season and is averaging 5.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists.
