The Phoenix Suns acquire Sean Singletary from the Rockets
The Suns have acquired rookie guard Sean Singletary from the Rockets for D.J. Strawberry. Singletary is now with his third NBA team (Suns, Rockets and Kings) before ever playing in a game. He played in 123 games in his career at Virginia (all starts) and he averaged 16.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game. The Suns felt that Singletary offered a bigger upside than Strawberry did and that’s the reason they made this trade. Strawberry played in 33 games (0 starts) last season for the Suns and he averaged 8.2 minutes, 2.2 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He was also pretty pathetic as a shooter as he only connected on 31.5% from the floor and 47.4% from the free throw line as a rookie. This was a good move for the Suns.
