The Phoenix Suns have no time for rookies

Blogged under Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page, Uncategorized by alleyoop on Monday 31 December 2007 at 1:39 am

Guard D.J. Strawberry and forward Alando Tucker have not gotten much playing time for the Suns this season and that’s not likely to change as the Suns rotation only has 7-8 players in it. Strawberry has been pretty awful this season as he’s only hitting 25% of his shots from the floor so far this season. In 6 games, Strawberry is averaging 6.2 minutes, 2.0 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Tucker has only played in 3 games this season and he is averaging 5.7 minutes, 4.0 points and 1.0 rebound per game.

Amare Stoudemire has been awesome so far in December for the Phoenix Suns

Amare Stoudemire has been outstanding so far in December for the Suns. In 6 games this month he has averaged 35.0 minutes, 26.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. He also is shooting 69.2% from the floor which is downright outstanding. I see no reason to think that Stoudemire won’t keep playing at a very high level as he can really run the floor as a big man.

The Phoenix Suns are off to a good start

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game recaps, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 12 December 2007 at 1:35 am

The Phoenix Suns are in first place in the Pacific Division with a 16-6 record which has them 3 games over the Lakers. The Suns are leading the NBA in scoring again at 110.4 points per game. They are even deeper than they were last season which should help them maintain their offense the rest of the season.

Marcus Banks is still stinking it up for the Phoenix Suns

Blogged under Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 6 December 2007 at 2:16 pm

When the Suns acquired Marcus Banks before last season they thought he would be the perfect backup triggerman to give Steve Nash a break during games but they were wrong as he didn’t play too well. His poor play has continued so far this season which has earned him a spot at the end of the bench. In his first 9 games this season Banks averaged 11.8 minutes, 4.0 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. If he doesn’t improve soon he won’t be getting off of the bench much for the Suns.
