Is anyone else a little worried?

Don’t get me wrong, I love our boys and have the utmost confidence in their ability to win a championship, with one exception: the fact remains we still don’t have a dominant big man. Amare’s personality as a player as well as his past performances have only enforced my original opinion about him. That is, he would be a remarkable power forward. He isn’t a true center, yet he starts game after game, season after season as a center. I understand that he is young, and possibly made the most amazing comeback from such an injury in basketball history, but he cannot, at least at this point in his career, contest Tim Duncan, who is, I painfully admit, one of the best centers in NBA history. The only team I seriously worry about, in the west at least (who knows how the east will be this year with big moves on several teams such as Boston, Atlanta, etc.) is the Spurs. We have made some good acquisitions - I think Grant Hill is a great addition to the team…while healthy. But Phoenix is home of one of the best sports medicine programs in the country, I think Tucker and Strawberry both have the potential to develop into great players - but we’re looking for a championship… NOW! The great Steve Nash hasn’t got many years left; this could be the last season that this group of guys has a chance at the big picture. And without Kurt Thomas things just get harder. What moves can we make to acquire a KG-like player? Will we make these? Is anyone else a little worried?
