The Suns had an outstanding first half of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 12:33 am

The Suns currently are the #2 seed in the Western Conference, 4.5 games behind the Mavericks.  The Suns have been awesome this season as they have an unbelievable 5 players that average over 15 points per game!  They are the only team in the NBA that can say that.  Still, they need more help from the bench to keep their starters fresh for the playoffs or this season could end badly for them.

The Suns get destroyed again 114-90 by the Supersonics in Seattle

The Suns didn’t play any offense (38.9% from the floor) or any defense as the Sonics shot 54.3% as a team, and that’s why they got blasted last night!  Marcus Banks led the way for the Suns with 21 points.  Amare Stoudemire was tough in the paint with 18 points and 13 rebounds.  Leandro Barbosa had a rough shooting night (6 of 18) but he still wound up with 16 points and 5 assists.

The Suns were outscored 37-19 in the 4th quarter and they allowed the Bulls to hit 50.6% of their shots from the floor and those are the reasons the Suns got beat last night.  Amare Stoudemire led the way for the Suns with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals.  Leandro Barbosa did a good job of running the offense as he scored 26 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, had 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.

Nash-less Suns lose 120-111 to the Hawks in Phoenix

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 9 February 2007 at 11:39 pm

The Suns didn’t lose this game because Steve Nash didn’t play.  They lost it because they didn’t play any defense as they allowed the Hawks to hit 51.9% from the floor and they were outscored 40-30 in the 4th quarter.  They couldn’t stop Joe Johnson who was out for revenge and put 32 points on them.  Amare Stoudemire led the way for the Suns with 29 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists.  Raja Bell also had a decent game with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.  Marcu Banks had his best game of the season with 20 points off the bench.

Nash-less Suns win 109-102 in OT over the Trailblazers in Portland

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 7 February 2007 at 7:40 am

The Suns didn’t need Steve Nash last night, but this game was a tight one.  Amare Stoudemire was too much for the Blazers as he rolled up 36 points and 9 rebounds.  Leandro Barbosa started at point guard in Nash’s place and he played well.  He scored 25 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 7 assists and stole the ball 4 times.

The Suns improved to 39-10 with this win.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270206022
