Suns blaze past the Grizzlies 137-122 in Memphis

Blogged under Game recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 7:02 pm

The Grizzlies made the mistake of trying to beat the Suns at their own game and they couldn’t keep up.  The Suns hit an amazing 55.6% from the floor as a team!  Amare Stoudamire was flat out dominating last night as he rolled to a 42 point, 9 rebound night.  Raja Bell had an outstanding game as he scored 25 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.  He also shot an amazing 7 of 11 from behind the three-point arc.  Shawn Marion stuffed the boxscore like he always does with 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 steals.

The Suns improved to 29-8 on the season with this win, which was their 10th in a row.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270115029

Nash going for third MVP in a row

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 13 January 2007 at 9:01 pm

Steve Nash is the guy that directs the awesome offense of the Suns.  He has an awesome arsenal of skills that he displays nightly.  He’s an incredible shooter for a guard as he hits 52.7% from the floor and an unbelievable 50.9% of his 3-point attempts so far this season.  If you foul him you’re out of luck as he hits 88.8% of his free-throws.  Nash is averaging 35.8 minutes, 19.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 11.3 assists per game so far this season and it looks as if he’ll have a chance to get that third MVP trophy if he keeps playing at his current level.

Marcus Banks was brought in to backup Nash, but he hasn’t played to well this season.  He’s averaging 9.9 minutes, 4.1 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

Nash is the only played on the Suns that they couldn’t afford to lose, because they are deep everywhere else on the court.
