Suns will another track meet 116-111 over the Celtics

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 9 December 2006 at 9:26 pm

The Suns had another outstanding game shooting the basketball as they hit 60.6% from the floor.  Shawn Marion was awesome with 29 points and 12 rebounds.  Steve Nash did a good job of quarterbacking the offense with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists.  Boris Diaw was very active with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.  Raja Bell played well with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Amare Stoudamire added 13 points.  Kurt Thomas (10 points, 11 rebounds) and Leandro Barbosa (9 points, 4 assists) both played well off the bench.

The Suns showed alot of heart in winning this game.  They had to be tired after the double-OT game the night before, but refused to use it as an excuse and went out and took this game from the Celtics.  The Suns are now 12-6 on the season.

This was not a game for fans of team defense.  The Suns shot 52.1% from the floor, but an amazing 54.8% from 3-points range.  The Suns did get out-rebounded 50-39, but it didn’t matter because the Suns weren’t missing many shots.

Steve Nash had a fantastic game with 42 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists.  Shawn Marion had a stat sheet stuffer with 33 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Raja Bell pitched in with 24 points.  Amare Stodamire had a great game too with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  Boris Diaw was very active with 16 points and 14 assists.  Leandro Barbosa was busy with 16 points, 7 assists and 3 steals.

The Suns improved to 11-6 on the season with this win.

The Suns simply were too much for the Kings.  Leandro Barbosa led the way for the Suns with 26 points.  Shawn Marion had a good game with 23 points and 6 rebounds.  Amare Stoudamire played a good game close to the basket with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  Raja Bell was busy with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Kurt Thomas came off the bench and scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.  Steve Nash did a great job directing the attack with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 20 assists.

The Suns improved to 10-6 on the season with this win.

Amare Stoudamire looking like he’s getting stronger

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 5 December 2006 at 12:24 am

Amare Stoudamire is starting to look like his old self and that is great news for the Suns.  He is averaging 15.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.  Stoudamire is hitting 62.8% of his shots, but most of them are putbacks and dunks.  Stoudamire gives the Suns some defense, which most of the team prefers not to play.
